En términos precisos, debemos decir que SHOULD se emplea
en todas las personas para manifestar “obligación”, y en
la primera persona para relatar una simple expresión de
futuro. WOULD por su parte, se emplea en las tres personas para expresar una acción acostumbrada, y en la segunda y tercera persona para el futuro simple.
Veamos esto mediante la siguiente tabla.

ACCION USUAL: equivale generalmente a “soler.”

Ellos lo recibirán el viernes si usted lo enviara hoy.

Pensé que los vería en el teatro.
DESEO: expresan lo que depende del consentimiento o la voluntad, tampoco se traducen literalmente.
